Billy Cobham is a true drumming superstar, with credits on over 300 albums, having worked with music legends such as Miles Davis, Quincy Jones, and George Benson. His bands, Dreams and Glass Menagerie, along with his groundbreaking work with John McLaughlin in the Mahavishnu Orchestra, have been massively influential, securing Cobham's place as one of music’s true innovators.
Cobham defies categorization, mastering a wide range of styles including Jazz, Rock, Fusion, Swing, and Latin. His name is synonymous with the Fusion movement and complex, captivating rhythms.
Louie Bellson
Whether swinging with a big band or playing with a small, intimate quartet, Louie Bellson’s impeccable timing, compositional talent, innovative spirit, and vibrant solos have made him one of Jazz’s premier drummers, often mentioned alongside the legendary Buddy Rich. He is best remembered for his work in the big bands of Count Basie, Duke Ellington, and Benny Goodman, as well as his role as Music Director for his wife Pearl Bailey. His collaborations with Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Art Tatum, and Oscar Peterson further cement his place in Jazz history. Bellson played a significant role in Jazz's rise to prominence, continuing to champion the American big-band tradition.
